DIY Makey Makey LDR Keyboard

Light based media file triggering – A solution for contactless triggering of media files in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and a requirement for audience social distancing. Equipment: Arduino Leonardo, 3 x DIY LDR module, Vuo app (macOS).

When a LDR senses a change in the ambient light intensity it triggers a keyboard command in the Arduino. The keyboard command is sent to the host computer over USB and triggers an event in Vuo app. The simple circuit board was designed to allow quick replacement of the pull-up resistor to trim the sensitivity of the LDR signal. The Vuo app contains logic to detect and reject mutiple keyboard commands to create a frustration free user experience.
